Iterative Refinement

I have read Jack comment on end effects of a cycle and how he moves though them like "moguls".

http://www.elitetrader.com/vb/showthread.php?s=&postid=1803202&highlight=moguls#post1803202

I have been focusing on end effects and ther patterns. I have attached a pic of a common pattern I observe during the end effects of a trend and also, what I would envisions as take these turns as "moguls". This is a look only at P/V and not the added tools of T/S, STR/SQU, DOM, TIC OTR, etc... (which probably add more accuracy to the pattern - and let you ski on the black diamond trail w/o killing yourself :) )

But I am curious if what I have outlined in the image is what he is referring to?

I look for this pattern all the time. (decreasing red when comparing the peaks as well as when comparing bar to bar). I always look then for a lower low on lower volume and the bar closing above the low of the previous bar. The road down is cut of and price can only go up after it.

However, preferably bar 6 has higher volume than bar 7. Unlike this picture. Bar 6 cannot make the volume of previous peak though.

regards,
Ivo

Hope you're enjoying your weekends. My NCAA tournament bracket is busted, so that part hasn't been pleasant. Anyway, I'm wondering if anyone still has bigmoose's document from this page and found it to be helpful. Thanks in advance.

Sorry for not being clear. I couldn't retrieve the link on that page. Someone kindly forwarded me the file, so please disregard the post. However, if you're interested in the file and also can't retrieve it, I'm happy to forward it to you. Thanks.

Discussions of Analysis

Skill improvement drill # 1.1

In a setting that can involve the entire group, WMCN is a bar by bar analysis of the ES 5 minute chart accompanied by the YM 2 minute chart.
Each day a new video of One - 5 minute ES bar, along with the YM 2 minute bars that are of that time frame will be posted for 18 days.

Selected was a period of 18 - 5 minute ES bars that had a challenging area to improve skills on Analysis.

Attached each day will also be a screenshot of the 5 minute ES bar as it closes and the new bar just appears, along with the YM 2 minute chart.
Time remaining on the YM 2 minute chart will be annotated onto the screenshot.

Price, time, and dates have been removed.
Bars have been colored as HH regardless of close = Black. . . LL regardless of close = Red.
Volume is colored to match bars.
Prv is a bouncing ball and is highlighted in yellow, and that value can be seen in the volume pane along with actual volume levels.

Annotate the attached chart with WMCN and post it. Do not worry about being wrong. This is a drill for 18 days to start to think in the mindset Spyder wants at this point in time.
Feel free to post WMCN if if you had found yourself on the wrong side, and need to get back on the right side of the market. This is not an enter - exit mindset. This is a continuous analysis of WMCN.

The first attached chart and video is free of annotations. As of tomorrow I will begin to annotate up to the bar before the WMCN bar.

Remember have fun with this drill. It is for all to learn from.
At the end of 18 days, if everyone enjoyed it, I will be happy to do another drill.

I titled the drill above so in the future when you do a search, The title will bring you right to the drill # you are interested in.

I will continue to post the daily charts also on the ES.
If anyone would like to still apply WMCN on ES daily, please post.

Video has been sped up to 30 seconds for the entire 5 minute bar. That helps on bandwidth.

It does seem to be quite common. Thanks for your comments. The FTP FTT is another one which shows itself to be common :)

Posting the file might save you loads of PM's - unless the file holds too large a size for posting.
