Italy: 96% of Coronavirus Fatalities Had Other Chronic Illnesses

you are so cheesy with your arguments...

1. you have no idea if the lockdown has saved anything... once the hospital beds are not filled....

but

we can play anecdotal tit for tat...
there have been quite a few articles about suicides and depression...

A third of Americans now show signs of clinical anxiety or ...

Empty hospital beds are due to two factors : one, the safeguards in place have mostly worked and two, people are delaying using hospitals if they can. Any contingency planner will tell you you have to be prepared for the worst outcomes. And I'll note that every time we see people abuse the safety rules in Toronto, it's often the medical staff that are extremely upset about this recklessness. So who should we believe here, people trained in medical care, or eccentric online presences like "Jem", "Captain Obvious", or Trump himself ?

I'll say it again. You are quite likely to get this virus; your attitude is reckless and shortsighted and god forbid somebody you love dies because you wanted to assert your "freedom" and beliefs prematurely. That would be entirely on you. Be smarter.

Sure, like you said I was likely going to shoot someone in anger because I own firearms or some shit.

I've got news for you, we're all going to eventually get this virus in all probability. And the vast majority of us are going to be OK. Just like every other bug out there.

Beyond Italy, i have yet to see data stating the average age is 80. Seeing that many people live to ripe old ages in Italy then it is likely they had years cut off their lives.

Experts are stating that people with coronavirus are dying 10 years earlier than they would have naturally. i would urge you to go read the article plus the study -- and educate yourself. The study has complete data and statistics. Why don't you mathematically refute it for us.

I don't have to mathematically refute it. This study, like all other studies out there, goes off of incomplete data and is just another data point. Any study you've been shown that doesn't go with your narrative is "debunked" or "refuted by the experts" and any data that supports your narrative is widely embraced. You're the poster boy for Covid Confirmation Bias.

Italy was one of the world's hot spots for the Covid outbreak. Suddenly you want to discount the data there because it doesn't support the other study. This is precisely what I mean.

So in other words you having nothing to refute the study performed with a large data set. The study provides complete data, results, scripts, modeling and code -- so you can easily reproduce the results or identify which aspects you disagree with.

I had no idea we have 160 million old and dying people in the country. That does present a problem.:banghead:

And this is where you totally fail. Just people with high blood pressure is 1 in 3 over the age of 40, it’s 1 in 2 over the age of 60. Add diabetes, asthma, cancer and you’re there.

Beyond the obvious that Canada was badly mismanaging it's long term care homes ( mostly privately run ), we as a nation do care about older or sickly people and the chance of them dying prematurely. You just seem selfish it's all about you. You might even be the kind of guy who spreads the virus to many older people killing a bunch of them off and I doubt you'd even make the connection.

Oh I know, you are all in a lather about the economy; get over it..

Jem has said his father made millions which all went to his mother. She is burning up his inheritance by continuing to be alive in one of the fancy care homes expensive enough to keep Covid 19 out, for now.

He is just that kind of person, no real conscience. I have seen guys (and girls) like that many times in the hospices I have volunteered in. Money over life, they don't value other peoples, sometimes as they don't value their own, sometimes as they are just goons.

Lets see.. we already went over this weeks ago.
We can start here...

maybe have a lower population density then we have in N.Y.

Tell us again how New Zealand eliminated COVID.

and then go study the 5 points of why a lockdown is necessary again.

New Zealand - no new cases for five days in row, no patients in hospital
https://www.nzherald.co.nz/nz/news/article.cfm?c_id=1&objectid=12335215

Only 21 coronavirus cases are active and isolated.

Outside of few cities empty hospital beds are testament to the disaster of the lock down.
People are getting sick and medical staff is being cut. It was and is a looming medical disaster.
For no reason after the first 2 to 3 weeks.

Why do you keep wish Covid on me? Because the data keeps showing that it is no worse than the flu for my kids and probably no worse than the flu for people my age with no co morbidities.

Honestly... I tried to catch early on to get it over with. My wife, daughter, niece and neighbors probably had it. I eat well. I exercise in the sun everyday. I take vitamin c. I am going to add in zinc. I may get it... but I am doing my best to minimize the risk of complications. Yeah it could kill me. But, so could many of the things. I choose to leave the house and enjoy life. The data shows me this shutdown is accomplishing nothing long term. We are all going to be exposed to it unless we isolate completely.

So if I can get it... so can you...
My mom is very high risk. She is in a nursing home. She in her late 80s. She has congestive heart failure. I am not allowed to see her.

The problem with this study is the data they used to set their parameters. They used the WHO's life tables for Italy. Someone is going to have to explain to me why an 80-84 year old from Italy would expect to live a decade longer if the average life expectancy in their country is 83. Their math seems fuzzy.

As I have said before, there are some lefty states that I will give credit to because credit is due.

One such state is Oregon. They have not had a covid related death in two days and it was down major before that so it is not just a fluke or reporting issue, and the number of new cases is now below where it was before the last week in March. Unlike New Zealand, that is not easy if you are part of the larger geographical landscape that includes Washington and California which has had a lot of covid and Oregon has had no way of keeping people out as New Zealand has had. What can I say- the commies have performed.

Similarly even though New York/Cuomo are lefties, I would not hesitate to give them credit if they had performed. The problem though is not that they are lefties. It is that they did not perform.
