Light, a senior fellow at the Brookings Institution in Washington and a professor of Public Service at New York University, released a study of major government failures on Monday – everything from the botched rollout of Obamacare’s health care exchanges to the failed response to Hurricane Katrina – and found that failures are increasingly frequent.

I didn't read the article, but the premise is so clearly true I don't need to.

We sent a man to the moon 50 years ago. Could we do it today? The environmental impact statements and affirmative action plans would be litigated for decades before we could even start the project. Having to use a russian rocket might also complicate matters.

We built the Hoover dam in four years. We can't build a simple wall on our southern border, despite wasting billions in the effort. Billions to build a simple wall.

One of the big arguments for destroying our economy to fight global warming was that higher temperatures might cause an epidemic of tropical diseases. Now we are getting a real epidemic of tropical diseases and others that were nonexistent here thanks to Obama's criminal decision not to enforce the immigration laws. Tens or hundreds of thousands of illegal immigrants have been welcomed with open arms and quickly dispersed throughout the country, with no proper medical screening.

Of course liberals' concern for health is very selective. Smoking a cig is almost a felony. Having unprotected gay sex is celebrated however as a constitutional right.
