It has been confirmed that Ben Carson is a true republican

Putin wouldn't have redirected the gunman to the clerk. He would have stared at the guy with a Judoka's all knowing smile, waiting for a blink, knowing that blink would give him a full half second to act. He would be breathing his chi into his arms waiting to strike like a leopard that has gained the higher tree branch... then when that blink came he would have used the gun as leverage to take the robber to the ground where he would put his boot on the bad guy's neck and proclaim "I got this!". We need a Putin in the White House, not a corporate drone Big Pharma suckup like Carson...

You do realize that the majority of Germans did not elect Hitler, eh? He was elected in 1933 with a mere 33.03% of the vote. After appointed Chancellor, he proceeded to suppress the other parties and appointed himself Fuhrer in 1934 after seizing effective powers via the Enabling Acts which allowed him to pass laws without the approval of the Reichstag for a four-year period. He then used the Reichstag Fire Decree to keep the other party representatives from taking part in government.

If the German citizens kept their guns then Hitler would have faced a more active resistance at home in the late 1930s. This would have likely slowed down his attacks on the neighboring countries and seizure of their territory while he focused on domestic internal revolt issues.
 
I don't follow this kind of petty politics as a rule; it doesn't interest me. But isn't it true that McCarthy was going to have trouble getting the votes he needed because of division within his own party? It seems he would have tested the waters, and having found that he would be unlikely to succeed, decided to bow out.
