If France Had'nt surrendered, then Hitler would have levelled Paris. In that case Americans would not spend several Billion every year visiting Paris. So in hindsight the French were smart to let the Americans spend american tax dollars to liberate France. In fact the American tax payer is so fond of giving money to useless causes that these days they send Billions to subsidize the Israeli economy every year. Not only is the American tax payer paying for the $56,000.00 re-settlement grant given to every new Jewish immigrant ( that's right, if you're Christian you can't immigrate to the "holy land" ), the American taxpayer also pays for the armoured Bulldozers down to the gun belt and the bullets in each gun that the IDF carries.
