Israeli military approves plan for ‘offensive’ in Lebanon

That would be Hamas in recent history.
If we go all the way back to Israels birth in 1948 - the Arabs have literally tried their best to eliminate Israel ever since.
Without success so far, although it seems many would wish the Arabs succeed.
History is written by the victors.
Humans are flawed, biased, the weight of historical opinion favors the majority ruling.
There is no shadow of doubt in my mind that middle eastern judeo / christian religions are dominant and have a huge influence on western thinking, it colors our perception on how society should operate.
Hamas is but a resistance movement but their brutality is no different from Israels.
The difference is, the west largely view Israel as the good guy and Hamas the bad guy.
That's because society is largely brainwashed by government and religion.

Religion / religious differences is mostly the root cause of the issue here imo and so long as people have strong religious beliefs, they will never accept compromise.
No compromise = fighting forever.

There are other issues too thrown into the mix. Political corruption, money, power, hate etc.

I keep answering it, you just don't seem to comprehend the answer.
Lebanon is a fragile nation composed of heavily armed, diverse religious groups. Power sharing is froth with extensive politicking to prevent internal clashes. One of these groups is Shiite Hezbollah, the more powerful of the lot because armed and financed by Iran. Only Hezbollah wants war with Israel. The other groups probably hope they do, to become so weak that they would lose their dominance in Lebanon. None of the other parties in Lebanon have the desire to fight Israel.

Yes but WHY is Lebanon involved this time? It's just Hezbollah that's again doing errands for Iran? So an entire country went into war because of one terrorist group? Ok

Btw as much as I enjoy this discussion, this thread really should go into the "Politics" section.

No matter how much the judeo/christian religions are "coloring" my perception on how society should operate, going into a music concert, farm communities to kidnap innocent women and children and then killing them is WRONG. And that's what Hamas did.

Hamas is but a resistance movement

A resistance movement?? LOL Resisting who? Music concertgoers? Community farmers?? LOL

No religion/religious differences are NEVER the root cause. The root cause is and as always ---> MONEY!! Everything else is just smokescreen. If you look at every single war that's happened in history, and if you dig deep enough to the very very very fundamental reason, it's ALWAYS money, $$$. This Israel - Palestine conflict is no different and neither is the Ukraine -Russian war or the China - Taiwan war in the future.

I'm honestly surprised to see how many people are turning a blind eye towards this and seems to think it's justified and part of a 'resistance movement' - and further expect Israel to not retaliate even after Hamas took over 200 hostages with them into Gaza (being cheered on by people in the streets when they came back parading with their trophies who laid beat up on their cars).

Did these people support 9/11, too? IS?

You make me laugh at time with your ridiculous comments.
Have you seen this thread? I'm guessing not or have you rose tinted glasses.

No, I did not.

Let's stick to this thread.

The one who comes across as ridiculous (as usual) here is you. :)
