The New York Times is defending its rehiring of a Gaza journalist who was previously exposed for praising Hitler.
The Times rehired freelance videographer Soliman Hijj as part of its coverage of the Israel-Hamas war. In August 2022, the pro-Israel media watchdog HonestReporting shed light on Hijjy, whose work had been featured by the Times between 2018 and 2021.
HonestReporting found that Hijjy praised Adolf Hitler in a 2012 Facebook post, writing, "How great you are, Hitler" in Arabic.
In a 2018 post, Hijjy shared a photo of himself with a caption that translated to either "I'm in tune like Hitler during the holocaust" or "in a state of harmony as Hitler was during the Holocaust."
In a separate post, he referred to the terrorist group Hamas' rocket fire toward Israel as "the resistance."

I don't understand why these tunnels are such a big deal. Everyone is saying there'll be subterranean fighting. It seems to me, every time you find an entrance to one, just throw whatever the military equivalent is of 5 or 10 sticks of dynamite down there and cave it in. Bury those f'rs alive. If the blast doesn't kill em, they won't last long without oxygen. If they scramble down the tunnel and escape via another entrance, you gun em down there like rats when they pop out of the building. Then blow up that end of the tunnel. They're gonna have to find all the tunnel entrances anyways, why go down and fight. Blow the f'rs to kingdom come. Hello Allah. Problem solved.
Note how no calls to expel members of congress who spout and retweet Israeli misinformation are ever made. Have the 40 decapitated babies claims been confirmed? Plenty of sharing of that bit of info to rally support.
It's time for Tlaid to be hauled in front of the house ethics committee and expelled from Congress for supporting terrorism.
