It is in this manner. The lefties maintained in the beginning with Hugo Chavez that he was allegedly a duly and legitimately elected president/regime and conservatives and others allegedly just had a problem because he was not under the control of the Americans and that the Americans could not accept the fact that Venezuelans can think for themselves and choose their own government. Then, flash forward, and they were being "disappeared" and eating cockroaches as part of the Maduro Diet they argued that the civilians were innocents who were having to live under an autocratic regime. Yeh well tell us again about the "duly elected" part and go "duly elect" someone else.

Similarly, in Gaza, the lefties have criticized conservatives for not accepting the fact that the Gaza leadership/government was the "legitimately" elected government chosen by the Gazarians or Gazettes or Gazarinis. But now that they are under threat of attack or actual ongoing attack they are screaming that the people there have nothing to do with Hamas. They are just innocent victims of Hamas themselves.

Not saying civilians should not be treated as civilians. But if they were legitimately elected then the people knew what kind of shit-show they were signing up for. Hamas leaders were on the ballot and the charter/constitution for Gaza calls for the elimination of Israel.

Yeah, and this is related to Syria, and that to Iraq, and this to Yemen, and that to Somalia, and this to China and that to Afghanistan. Hilarious how anyone who kills a Jew is labeled a terrorist, but Israel keeping all its neighbors down and commits apartheid and genocide in Palestine is called "nation building". The Queen in the UK and prime minister met with previously labeled "terrorists" (aka IRA) because everyone realized that one has to sit at a table and solve an impasse about Northern Ireland, no matter what someone labeled the other side of the table. Yet Israel insists for decades that they can't negotiate anything unless the other side changes leadership. That was said during the PLO reign and during every other Palestinian administration (not even speaking of terrorists). It is the dishonest and immoral conduct of Israel that has it lose more and more support in Asia and Europe. The US still supports Israel without reservation but don't forget, there are only 6 millions Jews in the US. If the Jewish elites demand too much of US involvement support from the remaining 320 million Americans will crumble. This is not a question of if but when. At some point Israel needs to ask itself how they want to proceed and realize their current policies are not working and will never succeed.

Again, more legitimate criticism here. You’ll not find me unsympathetic to the Palestinians. However, like with a lot of the nations in the Middle East, the power in these places lies with the zealots. And therein lies the difficulty in policy.

My assessment is at this point a two state solution is not feasible. Hamas is irredeemable and Palestine needs some sort of international or pan-Arabian peace keeping force.

Secretary of State Antony Blinken on Thursday described gruesome photos and videos he reviewed depicting victims of Hamas' terrorist attack on Israeli civilians.

"It's hard to find the right words. It's beyond what anyone would ever want to imagine, much less, God forbid, experience," he said at a press conference in Israel. "A baby, an infant, riddled with bullets. Soldiers beheaded. Young people burned alive. I could go on, but it's simply depravity in the worst imaginable way."

Blinken said that the photos, shown to him behind closed doors by Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu and the Israeli government, would ultimately show exactly the horrors its people have confronted and serve to unify through "moral clarity."

"So, images are worth a thousand words. These images may be worth a million," he asserted.

why should they be exiled to a foreign country? Gaza's inside Israel's border; Palestinians should not be fleeing their own borders unless we're ready to admit that said government is out to wipe them out making them political refugees risking genocide.
