Israel: Iran sending warships to Mediterranean Sea

JERUSALEM: Iran is sending two warships into the Mediterranean Sea, Israel's foreign minister said on Wednesday, labelling the act a "provocation" the Jewish state cannot ignore for long.

"Tonight two Iranian warships are supposed to cross the Suez Canal into the Mediterranean Sea on their way to Syria," Foreign minister Avigdor Lieberman said, speaking at a conference of American Jewish leaders in Jerusalem.

Lieberman said Iranian warships cruising past Israel's coast was something that had not occurred for many years and was a "provocation that proves the self confidence and cheek of the Iranians is growing from day-to-day."

"To my sorrow the international community is not dealing with these repeated Iranian provocations," the hardline minister said, referring to a recent visit by Iranian President Mahmoud Ahmadinejad to the Lebanese border with Israel.

I agree 100%. The volcano has been fuming for many years.

USA has been stopping Israel since long time and now the situation is such that Israel-Iran War could lead to World War 3. If Israel would have been free-mind many years back it would have been a small war.

USA has a bad habit of delaying/blocking (example USA is bankrupt) and then it is out of control.

Volcanic ash is good for the growth of grass and other trees. The African endless grass plains are result of volcanic ash and Africa has the best wildlife/animals.

"You have to ask yourself, are we funding an arms race on both sides? I have a lot of sympathy and respect for Israel as a democratic nation, as, you know, a fountain of peace and a fountain of democracy within the Middle East. But at the same time, I don't think funding both sides of the arm race, particularly when we have to borrow the money from China to send it to someone else. We just can't do it anymore.

Israel has the third most powerful armed forces in the world. They can take care of themselves. The US just doesn't want to deal with the chaos it would cause for all of our corporate interest in the region.


We should just allow a free market, and allow the natural progression of things to occur. In no more than 2 days time, all would be settled in the middle east. Israel can fund itself anyway. There are more Israeli companies listed on the Nasdaq than there are US companies.
