Unvaccinated Israelis accounted for more than 75 percent of new coronavirus cases over the past week, Health Ministry data released on Tuesday shows.
Out of the recorded 5,084 new cases over the past seven days, 3,902 were of unvaccinated Israelis, who account for around 15 percent of the population eligible for a coronavirus vaccine.
Meanwhile, the percentage of COVID-19 tests returning positive dropped to 0.88 percent on Monday, the lowest figure since July 3.

Israel also logged a further decline in the number of patients in serious condition. While on Monday, the number of patients stood at 236, currently it stands at 249. Of the patients in serious condition, 149 are in critical condition, and 139 are on ventilators.
On Sunday, Prime Minister Naftali Bennett
pledged 10 billion shekels ($3 billion) to fight future COVID waves in the country, as key metrics suggest the pandemic continues to shrink.
Bennett also added that Israeli should not expect the "Green Pass," which grants access to public spaces, to be annulled as "it keeps us safe and allowing to keep Israeli open."
In addition, Dr. Sharon Alroy-Preis, head of public health services at the Health Ministry said on Sunday that “the pandemic is contracting."
"Our expectation is to see a decline from 1,000 confirmed cases and so the Health Ministry is preparing to present a plan to the government for an exit from this wave," she added.
"We are concerned about a variant that will bypass the vaccination,” she added. On Thursday, the Health Ministry
reported 5 new confirmed cases of the AY4.2 delta variant.
