GAZA — Israeli warplanes and helicopters pounded the Hamas-ruled Gaza Strip on Saturday, killing at least 195 people in one of the bloodiest days in the Palestinians' conflict with Israel.

Militants in the Gaza Strip, who have launched dozens of rocket attacks against Israel since a truce expired just over a week ago, fired more salvoes that killed one Israeli man and wounded several others.

I mean, just imagine if Cuba were to launch a constant barrage of deadly rockets against Miami, the U.S. would of course do nothing more than ask nicely for the death to stop.
And if Taiwan were to bombard Xiamen with a few missiles, I'm sure the Chinese would just passively and politely bend over and take it… Right?
 
The bottom line is the Muslim world first and foremost resent the fact that the State of Israel was ever formed. Israel has been surrounded by aggressive nations who even if not a single drop of Palestinian or Israeli blood had ever been spilled would still want to see the Israelis chased into the sea.

It's as simple as that, it's more unsolvable now than it ever was from 1948 up to the 6 day war.

The Islamic Bravado that led to the 6 day war of course has made things even worse with Israel gaining and claiming more zones and buffer zones.

As an outsider I truly believe, if the Palestinians calm down and behave the Israel's will too. But they won't so it will continue. Give the Jews their little patch of land and leave them be.....But No.
 
Middle Easterners are inbred, they marry first and second cousins. Inbred people are more against outsiders than most. That is one facet to the friction. A bigger part is the Islam thingy. They claim authoritiy becasue they are descended from Abraham. They can't continue to claim authority if the true descendants of Abraham are in Israel. Today Israel bombed the shit out of Gaza, what the hell else could they do? The stupid bastards there have been shooting missiles and throwing rocks and getting themselve all messed up with "peaceful demonstrations" where thy throw things for decades seemingly, every once in a while Israel has to deal them a real setback just to keep on as a nation. Gaza does not have an economy really does it? The residents are paid to stay there and make trouble for Israel by the other Islamist regimes in the area. Now that oil is down and all the camel humpers are going to be starving.. good time for Israel to attack, no? Gaza today, Iran tomorrow, nobody outside of the ME gives a shit if Israel glasses over the whole place, we have alternative energy solutions that could supplant oil with only a few years of adjustment on our part.
 
Today the wind has blown in Israel's favor, but I'd seriously warn against overconfidence right now. Israel's ground offensive into Gaza hasn't even begun yet, and when it does the IDF will sustain heavy casualties as they do everything in their power to minimize Pali civilian casualties.

Worse yet, is the storm about to hit Israel's northern front. Iranian proxy Hezbollah has been diligently preparing over the past 2 1/2 years for the coming rematch, and it's all set to explode in the next couple weeks.

It's about to get very bad, very soon.

It's probably a great time for Israel to take out all their enemies including Hezbollah and Iran in one blitzkrieg-like operation. That's just too bad that Olmert does not inspire confidence, let alone overconfidence. Then again this is his last chance to rehabilitate himself (courtesy of Hamas) and redefine his legacy of the biggest loser and he knows that.

Recently the world saw $147 per barrel of oil prices which way over filled the treasuries of the Saudi, Kuwait and even Iraq. So why not send some extra billions to Gaza for basic amenities of the Palestine people, who are suffering supposedly under the Israeli policies.

No they would not do that, but blame Israel for every thing. Someone put it pretty right in this thread "Israel is a Besieged nation, and it cannot afford to be nice in every issue and protest'.
