Isn't it time Trayvon's parents accept responsibility?

Quote from TGregg:

The racist libtards are mad because they lost on the Duke Lacrosse case and they lost here. One presumes it is hard to be a `tard, and it must be even harder to be a racist libtard getting proved wrong all the time. Gets to be that they haunt back alleys of the internet throwing non sequitur, one line comments to assuage their terrible pain. We should pity them, this is a truly painful experience and it only gets more painful. If they actually had a brain they would have figured out right from wrong, truth from fiction. Since they do not, one presumes they cannot and they suffer. Eventually the weakest "explode". Perhaps there is hope for them, post-explosion. But I suspect there is little for our resident racist libtards. Hopefully, I am wrong.

The ignorance with which you post makes you a big joke. Quite seriously, I don't think I know anyone who would post such nonesense and take themselves seriously doing so.

Uhh huh, you're a giant.

Anyway, stop posting here if we can't ignore you.

And fuck off and die while you're doing it.

Quote from LEAPup:

I can't believe he told a moderator to fuck off and die. That's insanity!

That is free speech. Do you kiss ass of the moderator?

She's got nowhere to go. Nobody wants `tards on their doorstep. Still, these racist libtards have inspired me to write more and write I shall! Haven't had this much fun in quite some time. Too tired now though, but come morn'. . .

I wonder if I can make their heads explode. . . .

I'm beginning to understand why some of you need a "Stand Your Ground" law to get through life without getting killed. If you are such a "brave" man, then prove it by identifying yourself.

Quote from gwb-trading:

The death of Trayvon Martin is sad and tragic. I can understand his parents desire for retribution.

However isn't it time that we properly identified those responsible for his demise?

Sadly the finger should point directly back at his parents.

What was Trayvon doing home unsupervised after he had been suspended from school? Is going out partying more important than your troubled child? My child would not be allowed out of my sight in the evening if they were suspended from school.

Why did the parents not monitor Trayvon's Facebook and Twitter accounts? My teenagers are not allowed on the internet if I am not their friend on all of their social media accounts.

Why didn't Trayvon's parents check his text messages? My child would not have a cell phone if I was not allowed to review the content.

The answers explain why there are thousands of other teens across America who are top students, and some youths have less fortunate outcomes.

It comes down to parental responsibility.

What if you were a pilot , or a soldier.
My point is , what if you were not at home half the time.

What does this even mean?

And you're still here? Why?

We've been talking about the need for dialog between the races for years. Fine, Patrick Buchannan expresses how a large fraction of whites feel, and Jessy Jackson and Al Sharpton express how a large fraction of black Americans feel. So there is a dialog, and where has it gotten us? Nowhere.

Though one hears the word "racism" in every media discussion of race relations, discrimination and prejudice are a matter of perceived probabilities, not race -- the high correlation of probabilities and race notwithstanding. Change the probabilities and you will change perception, and with it discrimination and prejudice.

My perspective is that of a white male living in the Deep South.

I am told by a long-time social worker that black parents in the deep south tell their children that the white man is the devil. Black children justify their poor performance in school and protect their self-esteem by convincing themselves that education is a white thing. Astronomic numbers of black children are born into single parent households on welfare, raised by grandmothers, and educated on the street rather than in school. Black males emulate prison garb in the way they wear their clothes. Of the ones who do manage to graduate from high school, a not insignificant fraction are virtually illiterate. GED classes are almost entirely black.

Is it any wonder that racism among blacks is an epidemic. Is it any wonder that many can barely read or write. Is it any wonder that they have no access to capital and no job, and when they manage to get one, can't keep it. Is it any wonder that a very high percentage are on public assistance. Is it any wonder that their incarceration rate is astronomical.

Though correlated with a coefficient of one, prejudice and discrimination by whites against blacks is not due to race. There are, of course, racists among the white population. Rather the prejudice and discrimination experienced by blacks is caused by the perceived probability that a black person will be poorly educated, untrustworthy, and involved in criminal activity of one sort or another. If that perceived probability goes up, prejudice and discrimination will worsen, if it goes down, prejudice and discrimination will lessen.

The best way to tackle this problem is to abandon the ineffective attempts to change perception, and instead change the actual probability. The civil war ended a century and a half ago. The black community would do well to recognize this, get down to business, and stop this counterproductive, illogical blaming of white folks for the condition they find themselves in.
