There's a huge difference.
We've evolved and no longer practice that barbarism. We did that in less than 50 years. There are countless examples of a culture/nation doing bad things to people. But they all evolved and no longer do those things. The muslims? Not so much. They practice a faith/beliefs rooted in the 6th century. For hundreds of years, their beliefs and their treatment of "infidels" has not changed. They're still barbarians.
Let me ask you this, DB.
Today, right now, would you rather be a black man in Alabama, or a gay in Syria?
Take your time.
Actually, the Crusades were driven by papal greed.
yeah it had nothing to do with this...
The Crusades were military campaigns sanctioned by the Latin Roman Catholic Church during the High Middle Ages and Late Middle Ages. In 1095 Pope Urban II proclaimed the First Crusade with the stated goal of restoring Christian access to holy places in and near Jerusalem.

I'm sure it's safe to say there were some true believers in the mix, too.As I said, papal greed. The "Christian armies" couldn't have cared less about "restoring access to holy places".
