ISIS and beheadings...

Once again you make extraordinary efforts to miss the point.

The point is not to excuse any of this but to acknowledge that it's nothing new. And if one makes no effort to understand how we got where we are, it is unlikely that any proposals to change the situation will have any lasting influence, e.g., Iraq.

Ah, ok. Got it. I'll make sure that's the response to all of your whining about various moonbat topics from now on.

Im pretty sure that anyone who analyses the middle east doesnt come to the conclusion that sawing off someones head, and stoning adulterers to death is some new age trend.

Judging by these posts, one would be more likely to come to the opposite conclusion.

In order to do that, you'd have to learn something about history, which is all to the good. Otherwise, you just end up looking like a fool.

I'm quite educated in history. My favorite is first century Roman empire, particularly the military. I'll gladly go toe to toe with you on any historical subject and all it's lessons. And unlike you, if I don't know something, I will actually admit it and go read about it rather than pretend I'm all-knowledgeable on the subject (or on every subject).

Why? Because posting outrage on a political forum designed to allow one to post outrage on politics or religion is somehow...in poor taste or irrelevant?

You know, for a "man" who goes about pretending he is so intelligent on all subject matter under the stars, you are incredibly obtuse.

Been like that for two thousand years. Just easier to ignore it then.

It has been enshrined in islam for a long time, but islam doesn't go back 2000 years. It was invented in the 7th century.

Various middle eastern countries like Saudi Arabia have been repressive and used harsh punishments, but this kind of large scale attrocity has not been common. Destabilizing Iraq was a factor. A bigger one was obama's destabilizing of Egypt and Libya, and his failure to stop various terror patrons like Qatar from funding these groups.

Seems to me that all the ME countries should band together to oppose and squash ISIS... not "leave it up to America to fight everyones' battles".

If ME countries are not willing to fight ISIS, why should we do it for them??

Actually 6th and 7th, but 2000 is easier to conceptualize for those who think that Muslims sprang up out of nowhere on 9/11.
