Sociopathic demagogues like Donald Trump gain the trust of, and manipulate, crowds by intentionally reinforcing what the crowds already believe -- "Mexicans are taking your jobs" -- The demagogue is not concerned whether the crowds' beliefs are true, or based on falsehoods and misinformation. The demagogue only wants to gain the crowds' trust and loyalty. What the crowds hear aligns with their own preconceived prejudices and fears. This is how demagogues, although often intentionally lying, win the trust and loyalty of their followers. Once a crowd trusts the demagogue, they become susceptible to new lies the demagogue may use to manipulate them -- "Mexican rapists and murderers are streaming across our Southern Border," "The election is rigged," etc.

Donald Trump has a serious personality disorder called ASPD* and is a pathological liar. It is not uncommon for those with ASPD to be both charismatic and believable. The interesting thing is that unlike in psychoses the sociopathic liar is intentionally lying; a feature that distinguishes sociopathic from psychotic behavior.

This is the psychiatrist's term that replaces the vernacular term "sociopath," which means virtually the same thing. In Donald Trump's case, his sociopathy is accompanied by severe Narcissism.

If that were only possibly. Maybe after I see him in handcuffs, i'll start thinking about, "what part I am culpable in." Actually my preference would be to see him kept in a chainlink dog kennel with space blanket and port-a-potty , lights on 24-7 , for a couple months.

Uhmm my post was in response to @StoryTeller's mention of slavery. And my post wasn't bitching; it was a response to another's, in a debate forum. And again, my posts don't indicate that some group wants, or should receive, something from another group.

I don't think Obama was voted in because of Bush. To me, it looks like the people of the United States like to switch the party of the President no matter who serves. And that is most likely because of dissatisfaction with the incumbent President.

Yes, during the Migration Period, men did evil things regarding migrating to "new" lands. I acknowledged that, and acknowledge it again.

More recent than atrocities committed during that period, and other historic time periods:

A few hundred years ago. Modern period mankind, specifically, "The Pilgrims," invaded a land, killed nearly all the natives, and shipped 12 million slaves (2 million died enroute) to "The New World" to work that land for them etc.

I doubt the descendants of the natives and slaves consider that characterization strong enough.
