Unless ofcourse you're trying to pick up a pretty girl, then all you have to say is you "manage money". Watch how interested they become in you right away!

The skeptical among us should bear in mind the common knowledge that there are some misguided menfolk out there who impersonate women on the internet. With this in mind, the occasional Betty may, in fact, be a BettyLou (with an emphasis on the "Lou").
 
I was also wondering. I could understand it much more easily the other way round. Looking at the general trading culture and especially the general tenor of the posts here, I could understand female traders perhaps not wanting anyone to know who they were more easily than why a male trader might pretend to be female, which is pretty difficult to imagine (?) ...

Hey Janna - I guess I understand why they might think I was a male pretending to be female, and you're right - most females would be distgusted by a lot of the posts on the boards. But I don't let those posts stop me, neither do you, from interacting with other traders. To me, that's the beauty of being an electronic trader - gender has nothing to do with it! I decided to post on this particular board because I think the subject is interesting and I was trying to get the male traders to think of the same initial question from a female's point of view...
