So the origin of your position was that it was a "sure thing" ?
Trading is not gambling. However, most 'traders' don't realize that they're gambling and not trading.
Here is an example of actual trading: I own 1 million shares of a thinly traded stock which I would like to sell. How do I get out of my position at a fair price without the market selling-off on my selling? The construction of the solution = real trading.
Gambling, on the other hand, is the betting of money on uncertainty with the intention to win something.
The two are worlds apart.
