Is Tom Hougaard the real deal?

I skimmed and scanned Best Loser Wins. I didn't quite throw it onto @maxinger 's "pile of doom" but I didn't get a lot from it. Maybe need to go back to it at a later stage of my trader development.

Excellent points by LF.

So let's just make sure to get the facts right. I was listening to Tom trading live for several months and plotting his trades on my own chart. The entries mostly matched up very well and if someone wanted to follow his trades it was very possible. I didn't take any of his trades for the record. But I did plot them and can verify that on the days that I listened to him live, his final trade reports and PnL matched.

The reason why I say he is having trouble now is because he gave back a considerable chunk of profits that he accumulated since the beginning of the year. From previous years it looks like he was able to easily 5X or 10x his account. So with the account starting at 100K in January, he could easily be at 300K now. But the profits have been much slower and I think he mentioned that his currency swing trading is providing much more profit than day trading, which is at least keeping him in the green.

In summary, I think he is incredibly honest and being able to listen to a trader taking live trades and managing them in real time is uncommon.

I didn't insult you. I merely stated it suggests you're a beginner and as such you should stay humble and don't go on lashing out advice on how to trade. If you consider that an insult, then all the better. :)

Actually, what I've picked up on Tom's trading came from what Noah and others told me afterwards. As I said, I don't have a strong opinion on the man, but I do read these boards from time to time and you do pick up things if you're paying attention.

LOL. I merely made a brief comment on the subject to show you how wrong you were. From your bragging comments you're either talking a bigger game than you can back up or you're not actually a beginner anyway. Which makes it even more odd that you would attend a seminar. But maybe you have some other agenda.

And Noah, who is known for making thoughtful, knowledgeable replies simply made a thoughtful, knowledgeable reply to the subject before this moron weighed in with his sob story and his whining.

Definitely an agenda.

Probably one of the paedo's that chased Tom offline for whatever reason.

Oxygen thief.

I should also explain why I never took his trades. His daily PnL was a combination of trading the European market for a couple of hours and then the US market for a couple of hours. On most days I can only catch the first hour of the US market after open. This would mean that maybe all the trades are losers in the time frame that I was watching, but his earlier trading in the European market is what made him green for the day. So it would make no sense to pick and choose which parts to follow. It would almost be like having a trading system and yet skipping three out of four trades just because you didn't feel like taking them. Those trades might very well be what gives you overall profitability. If the average trader has a 50% win rate then losing three or four trades in a row is expected to happen regularly. So if a trader would stop trading for the day after three losses, then this would likely kill his edge. But if a trader could listen in to Tom for the whole day, then I have no doubt that his performance could be matched which once again speaks to the honesty and transparency of Tom's trading room.

Keeping your calm and staying cool is a prerequisite to succeed as a trader.

Seeing how DingDong is conducting himself in this thread all emotional and riled up, I wouldn't want to be anywhere near him when he's losing money at his trading desk. I'm sure this comment will anger him even further. :)

Thanks Noah. I appreciate you taking the time to explain that. Comedy and jokes aside, I didn't mean to offend. Good luck
