I don't have an account with E-Trade.
What does "may take some work on your end to locate shares" mean? There either are shares to borrow or aren't, it's as simple as that.
IB has one of the best shortable lists according to many, will check if GNIN is available on Monday.

This is exactly why his account on Covestor was suspended. When in reality he would've gotten 100 shares short on a $1 stock (as good as getting nothing), according to Covestor the whole order was filled. It's a somewhat elaborate scammer's trick.

No clue, you need to ask Sykes or his students who are/were also high ranking on covestor--- all I know, is I saw the guy short a penny stock and earn $$ when I was at his house in Miami.... the girls, cars, etc are also very real. surf

Sykes says GNIN will crash Monday. He is short 26k plus shares. Any challengers?

Let's see what happens!

:D

Using the same analogy to traders as was used analyzing classical musicians in the book "Outliers" by Malcolm Gladwell i.e.

top tier musicians - soloist

2nd tier musicians - symphony orchestra members

3rd tier musicians - music teachers

thus if we use the same analogy to traders

top tier traders - hedge fund partners, bank prop desks and CTAs

2nd tier traders - trading own and perhaps friends & family money

3rd tier traders - teaching noobs to supplement trading income

Imagine if you went to David Tepper or any other top trader and asked him/them to teach noobs for a small fee, I have no doubt
he will kick you out of his office quicker than you can say David.

ps I do not know if Tim Sykes is a scammer or not

Im not playing any hand. I haven't a clue what that guy is talking about. I don't trade for clients with options or in any way.

Interesting, thanks for the information. It can;t be done with big size, TS says this often. That's likely why the brothers had to close their operation and TS didn;t keep trading his hedge fund. surf

I checked Timothy Sykes system out. He is legit in his techniques. Don't know anything else about him. As for his system I know it works because I have been involved with stock promoters and have first hand experience of how the penny stock pump and dumps work. He is legit in his techniques!

The catch with the system is it is not scalable so big traders stay away because there is no money in it. A few mil to a big trader or fund is a waste of time. That is petty cash for yachts and toys!

No question about it.

So I'll leave it to you to tell which part is true and which part is pure bullshit.

If the shares are not available to borrow then the trades are as good as made up (even if he managed to find a few for himself).

To an extent. Not all of them are hard to borrow. Supposedly he uses some high net worth broker (skeptical about this one) but Suretrader does at times have shares to short that he mentions in the penny world. He does show his trades recorded and calls them live so he cant really lie about that.

The guy is obnoxious and in your face--- but guess what-- that sells. In real life he is nothing like his Internet self but rather a really nice guy. Peace. Surf

You're probably right but I have been in his chat for an amount of time and he is way too obnoxious. I mean he calls his subscribers idiots and morons poor and such. Surprised many of them still stick around.

...are you one of the "challenge students"?

Yes, legit for himself no doubt with his followers moving the market for him. But could he time penny stocks without them?
