Is this "THE HOLY GRAIL"' for trading the E-MINI'S

You may be very good at trading your EMA/MACD system, however, you always show the time of day when we have a nice trend develop and hence, an EMA/MACD system would usually work. I request that you provide a chart of your system for the following days and times:

Wednesday, June 5th - 1:45pm to 3:25pm (ET-u.s.a.)
Thursday, June 6th - 12:00pm to 2:30pm (ET-u.s.a.)

Please provide the charts for only these time periods.

Have you heard of the term "false positive"? That's what your system is full of.

That's why people here have been critical of you. Experienced traders are aware of problems with "crossover" systems. I'm not saying they can't work (I look at crossovers myself), but there are certain issues. It would be nice if you addressed these issues in your posts. Otherwise, you're gonna have a lot of trouble passing yourself off as a real trader.
 
dvoss, if i may clarify the situation with trading times a bit. JM only takes trades 9:30-11:30 and 14:00-16:00 EST. I think he's trying to avoid the doldrums or something.
 
Traderkay you are correct - I saw that in one of his posts and forgot. We all try to avoid the chop and that is usually prime chop time.

Jeanmichel if you see this - please disregard my chart dates and times. If you could show a chart for Wednesday, June 5th from 2:00 E.T. to 3:30 E.T. that would help me see how your EMA/MACD does in challenging environment. This period is not in your "don't trade" time.

I can hardly believe you are humoring this guy. I looked at the first chart he posted and had to call my shrink. It was a steadily trending market that reflected lagging indicators making crossovers on obvious accelerations. In a vicious oscillating market you would be whipped to death. This posting didn't warrant one reply let alone fifteen pages. He should go to the bar and have another drink.:cool:

Lighthead, there is no system that is foolproof!! Why post a "system" when none of them work. Hello. The only system is risk parameter management, period. You want to be long in strong markets and short in weak markets. You do not need a "system" to identify to be short or long when appropriate. Oh here's one for you, go investigate the CCI. Forgot about that one

I understand what you are saying, but my concern is that you may be overstating your point. By that I mean that although there may not be foolproof systems, a la Holy Grail, some of them can be very useful. Many of us know how to trade, and some of those knowledgeable traders put their thought to paper and then into some sort of software. Foolproof no, but useful yes. Instead of winning 50% of the time in a completely random method, one can manage to win, say 70%, and still get a decent profit out of it. Or win only 30% of the time, but make each win worth 3 times the value of each loss, which will also make for a positive trading endeavor. Life is relative - there are precious few absolutes around. :)
 
Good point Yannis. I follow a number of peripheals when trading such as all the usual suspects we all follow and when my sound is working Woodie with the CCI signals(peaktrade). What I meant was the continual search for "absolute systems". There are no absolutes in my opinion. As Woodie would tell you 99% of them are lagging indicators at best. This threads original concept was a simplistic "crossover signal" that looked swell in a non-chop market. And he tagged it with the oldest saw of them all, a "Holy Grail". LOL.
 
You have all a point in this discussion .

But give this guy (JM) a break and in the long therm it will proof itself what he is saying believe me, the market is never wrong !.

The only thing i want to say to him is (as others been asking before also) as you explane something show each day (full day) the charts and the trades entry/exit point and stops !.
Not only a moment or 2 hours that is not working in real trade life.
The hours you have saying where you trade between must been on the charts elsewhere it's already a joke JM.

It still then not a reference (because it's not realtime)but it can
help.
You could go to a chatroom and place your trades there that was a better realtime thing to do.
The we can check it in realtime also.
Are you maybe on a chatroom already ( i am at 2 at this moment)

The only thing i want to say is that is see no other traders explane how they make their trades at the futures with real charts as a example for us.
So that everyone can learn or talk about it.
Instead then been negatif at all times to others who are willing to share their view what's still gonna been THEIR view at things.
What i mean to say is that every trader must start with a PLAN
and stick to it as it works well for you.
But you must first have a plan to start with and as someone is willing to share his/her plan to us let him do it, so what ?
You can always start to papertrade with it and as it works for you then good.
Instead that everybody is talking a lot, share your technical balance and we all winning in the long run.

Cut your losses, cut your losses, moneymanagement at all times !
