Yes, it is real. Depending on the size of the account/contracts traded, that is very small or big on a small account.
You can make the wildest amounts you have ever imagined trading futures.
However you need to realize you can also lose just the same.
A Swiss banker once said, the futures market is a place where it rewards the accute highly disciplined trader, and how quickly it punishes the inept trader.
This guy made just under $2,5K. I am assuming this is intraday profit.
Some will never have that much profit in a day and for others $2,5K is peanuts.
Depending on which futures or stock you are talking about, $100K in a day definitely is possible. Will anyone here ever reach that level? Probably not.
FWIW, my goal is to have at least one $100K day per year. I know I'll get it if I am patient and pounce.
In the meantime, I am aiming for $10K days but falling short much of the time.
So to the OP, it's not only possible but doable.
percent yield might be a more valid measure. Carlos Slim could pull down 100K in a day and be wasting time when considered in light of his net worth. His time would be spent better elsewhere.
Carlos Slim isn't on ET asking if he can make $1K / day ;-)
