Is this a decent computer for trading or can you recommend something better?

Sorry, I was under the impression that only NT7 was 64 bit compatable. It might be that NT6.5 will run on a 64 bit OS, but I don't think you will experience the benefits. NT7 has been designed to take advantage of 64 bits, but it hasn't been released outside of beta.

I use NT with Zen-Fire and was told that Zen Fire was not 64 bit compatable.

Best to talk with your vendors to make sure you are getting an OS that is compatable.

As I mentioned I did have to make some change to programs to get NT 6.5 to work on 64 bit win 7. But others on NT forums said no changes needed. In fairness and objectivity I am not running a DOM just charts. I can't wait for NT7 even with my quad core there were a few times that my CPU spiked to almost a 100% when the 10 AM reports came out.

Yep, once I have nt7 and zf 64 bit compatable, there will be less fear regarding freeze-ups

Thanks again guys...I talked to sterling today and they said that while some changes to settings may need to be made, sterling is compatible with both the 32 and 64 bit versions of windows 7.

NT 6.5 runs on WIN7 64-bit fine here. All 32-bit programs can run on WIN7 64-bit in 32-bit emulation mode. Hope that makes sense. You can read about it here http://www.techsupportalert.com/content/how-windows7-vista64-support-32bit-applications.htm
