Is there any way to short the Romney Campaign?

Quote from RCG Trader:

You have heard about the situation in Ohio regarding dems dealing with the GOP?

The dems negotiated in good faith, and got fukked hard.
I was thinking more of the recent revelations, from GOP insiders, that "whatever Obama proposes we have to be against it." Apparently that attitude was crystallizing before he was even sworn in.

Quote from good ole boy:

Why don't you imagine the converse: identify an opportunity that would benefit from an Obama win.
I once new a guy who was such a bear, the only way he would ever get long was to short puts

So you have not heard. This is very, very recent.

logic man: The OECD did a survey of a number of countries which faced the need to raise taxes and cut spending in light of financial crises and a rise in debt/GDP ratios where the US is at now.

The data suggested that the optimal mix of tax hikes to spending cuts was on the order of $1 in hikes for every $6 in spending cuts. That seems about right to me.

So, if the Dems want to put a proposal on the table in about those ratios of hikes to cuts, that would be a good start.

I'ed appreciate a reference for this comment.

See table 6 on page 38 for the historical data. I had seen 6 to 1, but the table makes it look like 4 to 1 has been the average.

Which is why we should split up the country. No point in arguing past each other.

So you want us to be Yugoslavia, might want to Google that.

Why would we end up like Yugoslavia? The issues there were related to ethnicity and religion, neither of which are at issue here in the US, where the issues are related to political ideology.

So, your objection is weak and what happened in Yugoslavia is irrelevant.

You do not think the very base of this conflict is not ethnic and religious?

Spend the rest of the day reading down here, and make sure you follow any relevant links. Also, Google the concept of political dog whistling.
