@hydroblunt--I'll grant you that after Madoff investors have become more selective and cynical thus requiring more DD and pedigree. However, money still needs a home and there remain many investors seeking ideas, start ups, funds or whatever.

My point is connecting with these investors is easier now than ever before-- if they buy your deal, thats up to the deal and you--they will if its sellable and compelling enough.

Not sure if you're talking about those sites connecting you with "investors" for an annual or monthly fee. Regardless, I would be interested in hearing of the tactics you are speaking about.

I remember when Russian Army was withdrawing from Afghanistan in 1989, they were laughing. Why?

Russians were happy about something.

Quote from EMRGLOBAL:

The American dream is Alive a kicking, if your in the proper industry, in a state that is favorable to the hard working person and individuals who own their own business.

The fact of the reality is: If you live in a "Blue State" your fucked, your money is overly taxed and jobs are fleeing those areas.

Location, location, location are not only the three key words for RE but also for those who want to find their American Dream.

If you like the SCUMBAG LIBERALS and PROGRESSIVE IDEAS....then you will enjoy the NORTH EAST, Parts of the MIDWEST and Parts of the WEST COAST.

Enjoy the HOPE AND CHANGE!

DRILL BABY DRILL!

EMR. I'm curious. Have you considered moving to Idaho? Perhaps you already live there. Central Arkansas is also nice. :D

American dream is far from over. From the annual defense budget of $700B the government can easily reduce $300B a year for next 5 years and find that it is still the most powerful fighting force in the world. This was just one example.

There are many other wasteful areas where government money is allocated.

If somehow US government can muster up $700B a year of savings, in two decades its books will be balanced vis-a-vis debt and other liabilities.

What is danger to the US is its aging population which quickly results in economic slowdown due to lack of consumption. Other countries like Russia, France, UK also are on this trend with Russia's population projected to reduce to 100M by 2050 from current 150M.

No wonder nations like France and UK do not aggressively stop the immigration to their lands.

What are the odds of a reduction of this magnitude in defense? The trend is up not down. Leadership in DC the past 20 years is in the process of running the US into the ground. I have to be a realist when looking at the plight of the dollar with no plan to arrest the decline, without massive social upheaval.
