Is sole proprietor a better option for freelancer?

Hey guys,
So I'm new to Canada (moved just a few weeks ago) and I'm a bit confused with the procedures here.
Hope you can help clear up some things for me.
I’m getting to the stage as a freelancer where sales are coming in, and it’s time to register before I go reach out and start aggressively working on growing my business, on social media, ads, etc.
Presently I am now mostly working from home, malls, or libraries, it would be an ideal choice to register as a sole proprietor. The process is much simpler, I only have to fill out an online form and pay the expenses.
Have any of you when freelancing begun with sole proprietorship and afterward changed over to a limited company or did you go limited company all the way? Would be grateful to hear your thoughts on this. Cheers.
