Is Prop trading a good place to start...

Hey everyone,

I'm just curious if prop trading can lead to an hedge fund trading desk.

I did research this and I had trouble finding a solid answer. Most people would either flame or promote prop trading.

I'm curious because I would like to start trading. However, I have no experience and am curious if going the prop route would give me a leg up on my resume when I start to apply to places.

stay on demo for 1-2 years and treat it seriously. when your confident in your strategy, take it live. get comfy, go to prop for more buying power
 
I started out with a small prop shop. I never aspired to be a hedge fund trader or money manager however.

I can say that starting at a prop firm can lead you to becoming a self-funded independent trader, which is all I had ever hoped to be.
