Is price movement really random and unpredictable?

How accurately can you predict the next bar or candle?

Thank you for the coaching.

1 tick is an interesting concept, I have been playing with it since VST's post. I can't code API or real time trades, so I am moving down market to try slower thinly traded stocks. :D
Hello ironchef,

I talk to VST before as well and learned alot. I like his historical trading experience.

Soon I will be promoted to ES Authority Money Maker!! I have also went to NQ market to steal some money from it. Crude Oil was a bit too, uggghhh, i don't know what to say about Crude Oil.

Are you another 1 tick guy?

What is 1 tick trading, as you understand it?

Let me quote the experts:

I remember being watching VST with great interest back in the day a long time ago trading at Starbucks. His idea of scalps over and over and seeing inside a bar always stuck with me. I just never could learn to program so years later I had to see how I could trade outside of those millisecond HFTs taking thousands of trades a day for a penny or sub penny.

My first idea forscalping in yesteryear was scalping within the spread back in the day. That was fun and profitable. Then they ruined it by going to decimals. So, I had to come up with a way to scalp profitably outside the range of those HFTs. At least outside of the zone where a lot of their action was taking place.

VST is old but he can code. His profit targets are too small for myself but he, I suppose, has coded it up. I cannot think that fast. I have to work in a range of 1 to 8 points.

I would not write off as rubbish what VST says. He may be old but he still has an active mind! And apparently, he still likes coding.
Long(er) term MONETARY "goal" has NOTHING, NOTHING to do with back testing or otherwise developing an "edge", trading plan, system, method, or the likes.

$4,167 x 20 trading days a month x 12 months = $1,000,000+ annually.
Does your choice of instrument, capital, and available time allow it to occur?

+1 tick x 100 ES contracts = $1250 gross.
Are you prepared with a proper mindset and discipline to repeat that trade 4x a day?

Meanwhile, you are more concerned with whether you trend trade or scalp.
No wonder you can't get out of the starting blocks.

Age is not a factor for neither trading success or trading failure.

Actually NoahA you mentioned old men. I thought it humorous that Noah was pretty old himself.

And Noah was five hundred years old: and Noah begat Shem, Ham, and Japheth. Genesis 5:32 KJV

I'd bet none of us will still be begetting at even a measly 90!

NinjaTrader’s strategy builder is fantastic if you can’t code. There are workarounds for a lot of things people say it can’t do.

I see you like to trade stocks, but you might find testing your ideas on NQ using strategy builder (or some other similar program) helpful in figuring out an approach for day trading. NQ/ES are methodical with repeating daily structures and behavior where you can trend trade if that’s where you’re comfortable.

Hello schizo,

Thank you for the link.

I reviewed your link and post you thought was valuable to YOU as trader.

I do not think anything in the link you posted was valuable to ME as a trader.

Here is a link on ET that I know is valuable to ME as a trader.

As I said before, this is an ET forum website who knows what value means and good and bad advice. And most importantly who cares. Let people post whatever the way to post. If you do not like it, carry on.
