It was a bullshit claim. It would be a disaster if random hardcore candidate supporters got to stand around and watch votes be counted. From my understanding there's already qualified Republicans in the room watching. At least that was the case in PA when the Republicans admitted they had a "nonzero number" of Republicans in the room.
