Is Jeff Bezos the world's most successful con artist?

Quote from Ash1972:

Jeff Gundlach sums it up perfectly:

"Investors are so patient with Amazon because they think it’s all going to happen. They’re constantly investing in a company that makes no money and hope that one day it will pay off. That’s their bet. I’m surprised that is has been sixteen plus years and they’re still willing to wait.

So those same investors who bought shares in 2003 for under $20 are unhappy with your investment? Scrolling back a few years it seems that their investment has paid off pretty well.

1414 PE ratio. I mean, come on.

This should tell you all you need to know about the stock and the market. And the sad thing is this stock will go higher.

During the next recession, which I suspect will be caused by FED's tightening of the monetary policy, well, this baby will crash to double digits.

Would you buy or sell based on this 5 year chart?

5 Year Chart

SPOILER ALERT

That is a vertically flipped chart of AMZN to get a different perspective and not knowing the ticker will eliminate all noise and preconceived notions of the stock, in this case Amazon. The chart is showing a down trend so the natural answer is to SELL, so that would be a BUY for AMZN since the chart is flipped vertically.

I started a thread on the subject here: Would you buy or sell based on this chart?

Yes, along with John Hussman and Marc Faber, I am probably the last bear standing.

I can only conclude that the average age of the posters here is about 22? i.e. you were all school kids during the last dot com bubble.

The sort of arguments I'm hearing to justify these googoo valuations is pure Dot Comedy.

You are talking about momentum trading, which is fine, but completely unrelated to my question.

I was discussing the topic of highly regarded 'businessmen' touting hot air as if they have invented the cure for cancer, ageing, baldness and hangovers all in one pill.

There are a lot of snake oil pushers doing well right now, but Bezos is the ultimate artiste. He takes things one order of magnitude higher. I mean, no damn profits in 16 years? Sheesh almighty.

Simple question: would Warren Buffet ever dream of putting a single dollar into a shell game like this?

Quote from tradingjournals:

Traffic is the name of the game in an internet company.

You know I have a Wired article from 1999 in which a journalist said that word for word :)

and in 1999 that stock was trading between 50 and 100. So looking back he was 100% correct.

Yah but you are forgetting that spot of bother in between, no?

The sort of bother we might just be about to see again..
