Is Jack Hershey abusing ET?

Quote from trader225:

To the extent that he abuses the readers, he abuses ET.

You must read his responses to doubters and people with genuine questions to determine whether his responses amount to abuse.

With the extraordinary claims he makes, it is surprizing that ET doesn't require him to substantiate the claims and provide a disclaimer.

Just to add to spyder's comment.

I have two crews of people dealing with claim substantiation and disclaimers.

If you have any doubts about them doing thier jobs get with it and volunteer for either group. You have my permission, of course.

The person who are doubters and the others who have genuine questions do need to be protected as we all know. Protecting them has been a thing that has been in effect for eons. The people in charge of this two things have a standard practice of recruiting helpers. Their recruiting standards are legion.

Furthermore, they have rapid response recruiters all over the place.

If you keep the same name for a while you will find that you can rise in their ranks quite rapidly. they originated the post count as a gating mechanism for graduating from one level to another.

You may just be under the radar so far.

Rather than quoting, highlighting and replying to a post you find offensive, feel free to add me to your ignore list and click the complain button as well. Those terrorists forcing you to reply and preventing you from clicking the complain button?

You don't need to do a public meltdown.

There are a large number of interestingly looking threads that when opened appear to have been hijacked by Hershey and his unreadable stuff. In itself not a problem but it monopolizes the discussion and scares away more serious contribuants.

Now, this post makes sense. I can certainly understand how both Jack and his detractors can spiral a thread way off topic and out of control. However, since the responsibility for such an action falls on both parties involved (Jack for posting off topic and detractors for responding), clicking the complain button also provides the solution. 'Off-topic posts' irrespective of who creates them, often adversely effects a discussion. Hold everyone to the same standard, and I doubt you'll hear any complaints from this side of the discussion.

When Hershey interferes in an interesting thread from that point on half of the posts are about Hershey and not about the subject itself.
Not only is this very tiring but it diminishes the value of ET as a whole.

I would suggest to not ban Hershey, but instead forbid him to interfere in threads that are not started by him. If someone wants to ask him about target-orders he can be PM-ed.

If that is not possible please mark the threads with him in it in some way, so I can avoid them.

Ursa..

225 is going to pm you each time I post in a thread that will be of interest to you to avoid. he will do it just after he lofts his first criticism of me into the punchbowl.

Still can't bring yourself to add me to your ignore list? Something compels you to respond? Must be those terrorists.

I have no problem with Jack Hershey and his gang.

I usually read first couple of lines of his post and decide whether it's worth my time.

If I feel that he's just babbling along, then I just ignore. I rarely find anything useful to read in his posts, but sometimes I do pick up some good stuff.

People should just put him on ignore instead of creating a new thread about how Jack Hershey this or Jack Hershey that....

This is an open forum after all....

banning someone from free speech? that's so un-American.

put him on "Ignore".

you don't need the moderator's permission to use the ignore button.

He's still looking. He's sqinting too.

ursa has a good point about the serious contribuants (potential is what he means), though.

They are are getting scared away.
