Is it true that most hedge funds lose money?

Quote from crgarcia:
Just like retail traders, most lose money?
When talking about average hedge funds I'm talking about small funds managing $10 million dollars, not the big funds like those managed by Jim Simons, Tudor-Jones, etc.

If you made say +50%/yr, would you tell your client the truth or just say "subprime" and quietly keep the profits?
:p

Even with all his bluster, Cramer knew how to trade. His hedge fund did well.

That right? All I ever heard is that his wife was the trading brain. And all Crammer ever did was pay top commish to brokerage firms so that their analysts would tell him of their recommendations before they told everybody else... that is, he was a "gray front-runner".

Anyone else hear stuff like that?
