Okay, so, there are probably, thousands of Americans infected as a couple of hundred just went to China recently from New York. Some people are just damn stupid and there is no cure for stupidity so, what do you do? You engage in wholesale panic, selling all your holdings, liquidating your 401K, IRA, etc.? So, join the panic and sell, sell sell and who gets hurt the most? The big hedge funds with deep pockets and run the market or the retail trader who in his hysteria and panic, sold his shares at the bottom in addition to locking in permanently, huge losses? Selling all your stock is not going to stop the Corona Virus. The US government agencies are doing their best so, what else do people want? Personally, I think you have to educate yourself and protect yourself the most. How? Start with how it is generally, spread which is with your dirty hands. This is from an ICU nurse, wash your hands often and whatever you do, do not put your dirty hands on your nose, ears, eyes without washing them thoroughly, first. Avoid public places if you can like the mall, restaurants, etc. The reason is obvious, an infected person can sneeze or cough 10 feet away and transmit the virus thru the air. Travelling especially, via airplane should be avoided. Again, this is common sense, air circulated in a closed airplane will infect everyone on board as the air is pumped and circulated over and over spreading any virus from an infected person.

when the machines start buying it'll be too late. even as a large trader i am a small fish. i trade in a river. my thesis is money will flow to america... cleanest shirt theory. avoid travel, buy hand sanitizer, hold strong dividend streams, sell fear once levels are more clear. I have sold calls but waiting to sell more puts. I have closed all my hedges and will unload bonds to free up cash. these are the days you want to have cash ready. ANY positive reaction to ANY solution to crisis could create a spike. just be sure to hold quality that pays real dividends.

Last time I looked[FEB,2020 ]@ DOW, PE[not very oftern LOL] it was HI; on a 52 week measure.BUT low on a 5 year measure according to IBD data. SO DOW/DIA most likely goes lower.
BUT, GS bearish comments;
sound bullish on techs/QQQ today. I was planned on buying some SDOW, today but time is not the polar bears friend so I most likely will not.IF QQQ finishes above 200dma, maybe will; may buy some QQQ related, again.............................
Not a bad day for me today. Got some profits to cover some losses, 1 trade slightly below, 1 losing trade but, went up so, cut losses, 1 almost total loss, 1 larger loss, closed part of a trade. Still have 1 profitable contract open. Risk management works. It is what keeps you alive and able to recover. My friend wasn't so lucky. She panicked, then, panicked some more. Lost a lot of her monies. Worst, she sold the huge winning trade I had today, a 314% option trade that she ended up losing monies on. Can you believe that? She had it in her hand and threw it away due to her panic. Such a waste. She doesn't know yet.

That was a more severe correction than usual, IWM, IJR..... But my biggest concern was in 2019, my average position of IJR was getting beat by QQQ + SPY, enough to bother me even though it was in my investment section, not trading section.,
Some /months/years small caps do better; glad I cut a small loss/IJR,2019+ got in SPY +TQQQ.....Nice downtrend on TZA, i'm out ; time is not the bears friend.IF I was depending on the gov for health care, I maybe would have to have a bigger cash position but im not.Even though I don't trust chicom gov; the Chinese have made a much better flash light than I ever got made in USA. They do. a 10/+ bulb, 4 small batteries per light. And while shorts make money faster they take it away faster.QQQ is above 200 dma.
