There is a direct link between the idea you are vulnerable and the stockpiling of weapons to defend yourself. It starts with a pitchfork here, a handgun there. Pretty soon you've got yourself a military industrial complex. Is vulnerability the self-image you really want? You are clearly the weakest nation in the world.
