This chart is misleading, though. COVID killed gas demand, so prices were artificially lowered. As the economy came back, gas prices naturally recovered.

That's not the issue. The issue is what people will think of this and Biden's responsibility during the election time. That's what "its the price of gas, stupid" is supposed to represent.

Not who is at fault, but who takes the blame.

I hate Biden but dont blame him for the gas situation.As you stated demand was much lower when he took office.Keystone was only 8% complected when he took office and would not have an effect on prices now and there was more US oil production in Biden's first year than Trumps.


That said I do think he will take some blame for the prices and I am glad he will.He is a lying deceiving piece of shit so he deserves the same treatment.
 
Sustainable global energy production capacity is vastly larger than what are currently utilizing. In my opinion, a fundamental goal of government should be energy security, among others. From energy security comes clean water for everybody, food security, increased ability to create high paying jobs, lower infrastructure maintenance costs, and improved national security. Any infrastructure spending bill should have a provision for increasing energy production if we are not energy independent. Hell, energy independence should be a constitutional requirement.

I don't blame him either, just like I don't give Presidents all that much credit for stock market ups and down, though again - they get the credit/blame.

But this is what you get when people get all their news spoon fed from media outlets that are less about actual news and more about editorials. Until people take ownership to go out and find what is going on through their own research and consideration, we'll never get away from this kind of stuff.

Truckers pass these costs on through fuel surcharge - 100%. It goes to producers who have to make the choice to either pass on increased costs to consumers (which in inflationary environments, they do because their competition is doing the same) or absorb. Very few producers can absorb this type of shock.

Our FSC (fuel surcharge) tables went to $6 a gallon. We've recently had to redo them because we are facing the very real possibility of going over that for the first time ever.

Who will take the blame? Biden. Fair or not.
