Is it the "price of gas, stupid"?

But what can Ben do? He can't be seen as doing nothing, that would make his job redundant. Also, his entire academic career was based on this. To not do QE would mean repudiating his whole life's work, would show that he's no more intelligent than the guy sweeping the streets for a living.

Note to Ben. Thanks for continuing to punish me for paying my bills on time and living within my means. You might want to consider that low interest rates don't matter all that much to the unemployed and those that fear losing their job, which covers just about the entire population. That might be why the already historically low rates haven't done a thing to offset the housing crisis. You have insured we will pay more for everything we use daily while we earn less. Thanks again!

Well, the low interest rates, if you need them, can allow those bill paying people to buy rental property, make more money, move up to the top % of the population. Need to be selective of course. Is that not a good thing?

My little group has bought a dozen properties over the last few months, with rents running at over 12%, we're pretty happy. I prefer to just pay cash for the couple that I bought on my own, that way I keep the whole differential. But, that's just me.

Yes, but that's an awfully small segment of our society now days. We need to do something which has a broader impact. This move does nothing to help that renter get out of the hole he was cast into 4 years ago. The average Joe is getting murdered in his day to day costs of living.

The compassionate liberal. Raising his rents 12% YOY on his cash strapped tenants. While the slumlord is chooming over in Amsterdam.

Good on you, Mr Bill.

Very cute, but no chooming nor slum lording. We are taking risk, I thought the Rep's prayed to the risk takers? Which is it? Fan of business and risk takers, or looking for a handout? I'm must joking, I know that you feel you have to hate someone who supports Obama, even if he is devout capitalist.

Oh, yeah. Not raising rents, just establishing rents fairly IMO.

Hey, these stupid houses could go down again if we don't continue the recovery, although slow, still better than last year. In some States renting a 4 bedroom house for $1500 or so per month is a great deal.

Ben should pass and tell the truth: "Unemployment cannot be solved solely by monetary policy, and by putting one's faith completely in such policy is futile. It must be followed up with smart fiscal policy."

But that'll never happen the the Keynesian clowns we have, so we do it the hard way.

I'm with the liberals on this one 10-12$ gas sounds good to me.

Of course that means we quit subsidizing the cost constant supply with our military "gratis" for the rest of the worlds benefit.

12$ gas wouldn't hurt me but it would devastate the democratic voter base.

Well, well, well. At least a comparable price to the rest of the world. What a bunch of babies to complain about gas prices.

Sorry about some of the things I typed on other threads. I really do think you're not a bad guy overall. It's just the online friends you keep, Ha.

Thanks for the offer, but I prefer women. And.

No, I really don't change my mind. What I do is try to be civil, I have failed in this quest sometimes, and not too happy with myself for doing such.

Ok, can't resist: How was that shopping spree?

Ah, you know I don't care about your sexual orientation, just a salute to Lucrum who enjoys grade school humor.
