Is it realistic to average $17.50 a day trading YM with 3.5k ??

I don't see why you ask strangers if it's possible.
If you have to ask, it isn't possible in my opinion. Trade more sim until you think it is, or if you can lose the money, go for it and maybe you can break your goals (or not).

Hey I just saw this and thought I would let you know I am doing near the same thing. I have an account with $2500 just to learn with. I am doing well so far. I was up $60 in the first 2 days, down $50 a couple days after, but covered my ass and am up $120 in 6 days trading. About 20 bucks a day. 1-2 trades a day. Its totally reasonable to make 17.50 a day, sure. I will be adding a few grand to my account when I feel it is time but I havent been trading long.

Good luck but you got a long way to go before making any claims that this or that is possible. 3 months of trading everyday minimum....then you'll have a better idea

Fair enough! Not trying to say it easy as pie, just that it is possible. I have been doing my homework, thats for sure!

dude, i've been at this over 8 years everyday. You have ZERO idea what you can do at this point. You have so long to go to even have a clue whether or not X amount of dollars is possible. Its great to be optimistic, and you should be. But reel back the expectations right now before you find yourself in trouble.
Dont get me wrong, of course its possible to make money trading almost everday. I've already proven that to myself. Im just saying you need to put in a lot more time before getting giddy about making profits. To be honest, if you are up anything your first full year, thats an accomplishment. I've been around 100's of traders, so I know whats the norm and whats not.

I will aim for being up after one full year then. That is my goal everyday but I understand that I dont know it all, no one does.
As far as being "giddy" did you see me jumping out of my seat? I guess thats the trouble with bias while reading intenet posts. Im not all that excited about it, lame amount of $$$ really. Just sharing my experience, thats all I have.
