Is it luck or am I doing something right?

I have done that many times with real money
but next day I lose it all
if you can do it two days in row... then yes you are doing something right...markets are not the same two days in a row

use the same strategy again and if you do it again..... then it is right....

What happened to your thread? You were doing well. Got bored?

That is a bad sign. Trading should not be an adrenaline rush.
I'm sorry but I disagree. I would not have been drawn to it if it wasn't a bit exciting.

I guess some people participate for different reasons.

I got the impression everyone else was bored and had put me on ignore.....also i could not put my reasons for the trade so what was the point?

but I may be back though not posting live

What ever works for you, makes my account fly then implode LOL

I have started using a practice account with £5k starting capital. I am by no means an expert in trading, in fact, I'm a complete noob but I have always been drawn to it for some unknown reason because as I have learned, it's an adrenaline inducing hobby to have. Anyway, I decided to just do what came naturally to me, which was dipping in and out of markets making small profits here and there. After realising that this was working for me I decided to do some research and discovered that what I was doing is known as scalping? OR is it? (if someone could clarify that first question that would be great). Now I will get to my main question, hopefully some of you have stayed with my ramblings. I started with this 5k as mentioned above and turned it into 25k in a day, all my trades were made on the DAX, DOW and FTSE, is that realistic? the app I'm using tells me that had I been using a real money account, the profits would have been the same, obviously taking away the fees that come with a real money account. Basically, what I want to know is, are my results realistic or at least if I'm making 20k in a day, could I expect to see reasonable/similar results with a real money account?

I thank anyone with advice on this matter in advance! You legend(s)!
I looked over your trade log. One of your trades is for $6.85 million worth of contracts. I'm not familiar with the margin requirements outside of the U.S., but assuming you have a 5% margin requirement, you would need around $350K in your account to trade that much size. Your profits would be significantly smaller in a $5K account.

OK to disagree with me.

True, we trade for different reasons, some to make a living, others for the challenge. We constantly challenge some of the brightest minds in the world and try to pick their pockets.

How smart are they? Every time I read @destriero's posts, or @Kevin Schmit, or @sle, @Sig, @Robert Morse, @newwurldmn, @comagnum, @drcha .... I feel so inadequate. :banghead:

you get that rush in many things.....

but in anything to be successful you have to do the right things over and over again.....

and you should know what is right and that you can only know if you are successful over a period of time....

As I have said, I am a complete newbie. Haven't been trading for a year or 6 months, it's only been 6 weeks so I have no idea where you got that figure from. The demo account I am using only allows a maximum of $50k. I started with $5k because it is realistically what I would put into an account in a few years if I can begin to profit on a real money account.
