is it better to daytrade or swing trade

That decision depends on the instrument. Some lend themselves to longer holds, while others are best traded intraday. And for some, both timeframes can be traded at the same time. It also depends on your experience, psychology, objectives, and available capital.

DAY TRADING

Then you bring home the bacon on most days.

Every day you sleep well
regardless of profit or loss.

And repeat it every day.

Many day traders started with investing and swing trading.

I level up from
investing to
swing trading to
day trading.

Different people have different KSA, experiences, backgrounds, and competencies.
So you have to evaluate it and see which works for you.

I do both, day trading around core swing positions when the setups are there. The day trades are adding on size to a winning swing position on counter moves.

At times I am only day trading depending on the market conditions.

A winning day trade that runs hard where I have a larger target I will leave on half or a quarter on to run as a swing trade.

This is what many many hedge funds are doing - active in a shorter & longer time frame.

This makes good sense to me.

Why exit at the end of the day if your trade is going well?
