Is IB software best used alone, or with a "front end"?

Actualy you can do this right from the TWS. try exploring the bracket orders,. U can place a order and simutaneously put a limit and stop limit orders,

Now when your buy order is excuted, the limit and stop limit is placed, other wise not. nex when your limit order or the stop limit is executed the other one is cancelled.

It would be nice if this type or order (bracket) could be programmed thru function keys. Currently only Buy and sell can be programmed with function keys.

Not really sure what IB is thinking by not focusing more on Booktrader instead of all the fluff and bloat they've been adding. They're trying to integrate anything and everything into tws, and the features end up being marginal.

Focus on order entry ease, forget the charts, build in more redundancy, and lose the hour down time each evening.
