The fact is, that previous immigration process and norms was to "assimilate" the immigrants into our culture - that worked well! Our current open borders "let everyone flood in" and no process to educate the immigrants to our cultural norms is very destructive to our overall society. Now we have communities all over America that do not look like or operate at all like traditional American culture - this is degrading our culture and creating a lack of trust between citizens. The lack of trust between citizens is for a reason, and it does not have to do with honor or honesty, but a lack thereof.

In regard to big business and politics...dead and gone, along with any sense of ethical practices.
those coming into the US ilegally are not coming here right from the start having any respect for our laws or way of life - many have no intention of assimilating into the beliefs of our culture - I think this is very destructive and leads to a degradation of the American society. Do you think the flooding in illegal immigrants are going about all their activities in our society telling their truth everywhere? The degrading immigration realties in this country are creating a growing group of people in the US that have no idea or adherence to the intent of the Constitution or our laws.
Your argument is not really about the topic of this thread. There is no a priori reason to believe that, in general, immigrants are more or less honest than the members of the society they're joining. It's true, they may not assimilate well if at all (it's always their kids that assimilate better, and more so their kids' kids) and the current citizens may not like their language, their dress, religion, art, foods, smells, etc., but they may be as honest as anyone else. In other words, you may dislike their culture and appearance very much, enough so that you feel you have good reason to distrust them, but if they give you their word they may be just as likely as anyone else to honor it. All other factors (which do not bear on honesty per se) being equal, it's likely they are just as honest.

it's wrong to make that generalzation. Some of us have families who came here legally. If you come here illegally, you are breaking the laws right off the bat. How is that more honest than those of us who are getting ripped off day in and out by big government trying to bring in more illegals to steal from us and give their children free health care and education?
They come here to STEAL from americans, not to be honest. How many illegals are sending their kids to private schools and paying cash for medical bills? The answer is close to none. Most came here to take part in the entitlement system setup by big brother government to turn the state far left.
