Wildlife management is an interest of mine, but its more complex than it first seems........................................................:cool:

Classic cases, Chinese ringneck pheasant[import from China,LOL];
they have done very very well in the north USA, but not so much in the south. And now, i learned something tht has nothing to do with temperature, or global warm scam.

Pheasant Company that has sold over 20 million birds noted that pheasants do not drink water with * parts per MILLION chlorine, noting you may want to have your water tested.......
Don't remember the exact number but its single didgets per million.

Did notice my pet birds[rare chickens] will drink city water but need more of it than creek water...........................

And a related note, young chickens, & young wild turkeys are very vulnerable to a cold wet spring, a huge %% killer.......................

Thanks, Murray, but I don't think wild Pheasants drink tap water. They don't have any fingers to turn the tap. I doubt the birds that fell out of the air suddenly drank a bunch of tap water either. Good luck with your chickens, though. :D

The Fish and Game Commission also said New Year's Eve fireworks likely led the birds to fly at a lower-than-normal altitude and into buildings or trees. It's estimated that 4,000 to 5,000 birds fell before midnight.
