is futures prop BS??

Quote from PnL Rally:

I am looking for Prop futures or futures Arcades, preferably in New York and found this thread.

Does anyone have any updated info?

What firms would you recommend?

What are the typical deals for Prop futures?

thanks
Prop futures has been discussed so much in the past.....isn't it apparent the prop firms don't promote futures because they can make so much more $$$ pushing stocks ?
Especially with all of the discount retail futures firms now....and the low intraday margins.....the props really can't compete. So they don't.

Wow, this might be a record time differential between posts in a thread, LOL. 3 years.

Anyway, for the most part, the prop futures firms that do exist actually hire traders and are CME members for the (extremely) beneficial pricing structure. Off-floor firrms simply cannot get the same pricing treatment, which makes it extremely tough to compete with these members firms. For example, since my brother's name is on our CME membership, he pays about 20% of what I pay in Emini commish.

The other part is that is pretty tough giving "leverage on leverage" - an overall risk control nightmare. We let our traders trade the E's under certain circumstances, but after a while most have reverted back to almost solely equities.

FWIW,

Don
