Is Forex an Addiction ?

Yes. Forex can be an addiction, like drinking alcohol. I have read stories of people who spent so much money and time after continuously failing for months. Trading addiction can cause exhaustion and make the mind tired, which only leads to more losses.

Exactly! Trading isn’t an addiction, but trading to only make profits from trades without knowing their potential is definitely an addiction.
 
Forex trading can also be addictive if left unchecked. Addictive trading leads to exhaustion, it tires the mind, which affects trading and leads to losses.
 
I know a market as intense as forex demands time, but it is up to the traders how they want to approach the market. Traders should plan out the duration for which they will trade and must strictly adhere to that plan. Sitting in front of a computer to monitor trades round the clock will surely be called addiction.

Solid point you’ve mentioned there! When a trader has a strategy for trading, he won’t be wasting his time monitoring currency pairs. He will find potential trades and open his position.
 
Forex as a market is not addictive and if your strategy doesn’t involve frequent trading then the chances of you getting addicted to forex are rare. However, if you are a day trader who likes the thrill of rapid fire trading then there’s a possibility that over time you’ll start developing a habit trading unnecessarily just to feel good. Believe me, once you start doing that your pocket will not feel good. So, always follow your plan and if you have reached your daily profit or drawdown, call it a day.
 
If you feel as if you are getting addicted to trading, then you should try something else to deviate your mind. Addiction to anything is bad be it alcohol, drugs, or trading, but in the case of trading, you may incur huge losses.
 
Anything we do with great passion can become our addition. There is a very high possibility of getting addicted to Forex trading, especially if you started earning well from the very beginning. It may be just a lucky coincidence, but I think after this, a person will be unable to stop and will try it over and over again.
