As a very young man he put in the highest of high risk capital into his friend's deal. Takes some balls. Your post makes it sound like he conned someone or came up with a suit without merit.

The fact that our judicial system is considered fairer than almost any other for US nationals, immigrants and aliens is a real asset for this country. And what is wrong with him legally choosing wherever he wants to live as he complies with our laws and makes it tax efficient. NOTHING!!!!

I was not there and I don't know the inside story but maybe Zuckerberg is a dick! And maybe the only way to get half of what you are due is to sue.

Having a billion dollars makes the concept of "living" someplace obsolete. Why would he ever spend 90 consecutive days ANYWHERE, much less "live" in one place? For someone whose life will probably consist of non-stop parties interrupted by high-level 1-2 day business meetings with potential business partners, the idea that he has to be based in one location is irrelevant.

I think traitor is obviously too harsh of a word.

I just think with all this cash he could have paid a little more and worked some deal with the state department; avoiding this negative PR.

You do realize you made my point?
The judicial system of the US allowed him to get what he was owed from Zuckerberg. Turning around and renouncing your citizenship after that is, simply, the action of a dickwad.

But, trefoil, if he were not a citizen and even if he had never set foot on US soil he could have filed and won his suit. Having a judicial system that is available to all and is perceived to be a reasonable and fair one is bedrock to investors the world over -- ours passes that smell test.

The Russian system is suspect and it causes many to avoid any investment there that could end up adjudicated by a Russian court. The same proposition in China is frequently worth double what it would be worth in Russia because the Chinese have made an effort over the last 15 years toward a reasonable international standard.

The dickwad appears, to me at least, to be Zuckerberg. Saverin did not want his pocket picked and he wanted to leave. Both legitimate, legal desires.
