Is everyone in a fullblown panic because of coronavirus?

Hey for real Small, keep us posted on how you're feeling. Good luck, I hope its nothing. Get some fresh air and sun if you can.

(I wonder if tanning beds would help people. Ahhh, probably not. They might though. Never know. Captain you belong to $PLNT... if its still open, I'd lay in one of those bitches for a few minutes each day... couldn't hurt. Just spray it down before you get in.)

Thanks. I feel great actually. It might just be the common cold. You take care too. Hope your family is doing fine too.

It is highly probable this has been here for weeks and weeks, probably months. I believe I had this the beginning of February. After spending most of Jan. in AZ. I returned home via the jam packed flying tube. Less than 48 hrs later I became quickly ill. Same exact symptoms. Dry cough, sore throat, headache and a fever, slight fever but none the less a fever. I was sick as shit for the first three days, and the whole deal lasted about 10. I stayed home as I usually do when ill, drank plenty of fluids and rested. No doc visit as it wasn't necessary.
I have spoken with several people I know who have experienced these exact symptoms over this past winter writing it off as the common flu/cold. In my completely non scientific, not so humble opinion, we are at the middle or end of this, not the beginning. The only reason we're seeing a rise in cases is due to the fact there wasn't anyone testing or even looking for it here until a few weeks ago. If this was spreading as fast as they say, we'd be seeing, have already been seeing, thousands of new cases per day in the U.S. and hundreds of deaths daily. We're not and I don't suspect we will.
Of course this assumes we're getting realistic numbers out of China. If there's ten million dead Chinese in a ditch somewhere, then we have a shit storm of death coming our way.

I am going to make a point that is a bit repetitive on my part but still applies to the discussion at hand- very much so:

There is a debate about whether this virus is subject to seasonality and will tamp down as we get into warmer weather as the more basic flues do. There are arguments on both sides of that which I will pass on right not.

BUT THE ARGUMENT SHOULD NOT BE ABOUT WHETHER THE END OF FLU SEASON WILL HELP BIGTIME OR NOT. IT WILL. IT WILL. IT WILL. Even if the coronavirus does not lessen, all the background noise from the seasonal flue which confounds testing, confounds people's decisions about going to medical facilities for testing, will lessen dramatically as the seasonal flu lessens. Over 90% of the people showing up for corona virus are testing negative and most places require a test for influenza before processing the test forward for corona. Repeat: Having the frigging regular flu diminish will be a BIG, BIG help. The kneejerk reponse that we do not know how it will affect the corona is a crock. We dont need to know that to know that it will be an enormous help in reducing the load on the system and reducing an ocean of similar symptoms out there which confounds testing and patient anxiety. If a person feels like crap today, statistically, they have the flu. Give it another month though and if they feel like crap they need need to think corona. If you have flu like symptoms in May, well then, you got corona or another virus most likely. When you lower the water (ie. the regular flu) the rocks begin to stick out more clearly.

The country is still wall-to-wall with an aggressive strain of influenza type B this year. That's going to diminish very soon. That will help. Also not good to have both Influenza B and Corona at the same time, so it will help with that too. I think even the obstreperous ones here can agree with that.

In theory, if you had your own tanning bed. The uv light would raise your serum vitamin d level at the end of a long winter, and that will always help.

In practice, though, commercial tanning places, are basically just locker room types of environments where there is a lot of sweating by strangers going on. Some lizard comes in and does a quick spray and wipe, at best before the next sweathog comes in and contaminates the environment. The virus will think it has died and gone to heaven in that environment.

I still choose Corona over cancer haha

Thankfully you are not in China and do not have worry about whether you feel like shiite because you have corona or maybe it is just the bat soup you had last night.

Just lay low a little. And when you get the strength, use the drive through at Arby's to get a few jalepeno poppers to stimulate your immune system a little and you will be fine. I think that could be called herbal medicine.

Lookin' out for you.

We can test this now. Miami should have fewer cases than Chicago and NY.
