Is Elite Trader mostly for Interactivebrokers?

Cscott,

I urge you to read through the forum even using the search function in order to quell your fears that this is an IB supported and biased forum. Your one experience here is not indicative of all experiences nor a common experience.

In addition, the fact that IB reps do come here speaks volumes about the dedication to their customers. Think about it. This is a public forum which is read around the world. Their site (IB's) isn't. IB reps admit faults, finds solutions, discuss future plans, discuss internal workings, etc. Pretty much full disclosure on their part.

Customers who uses IB's forum have other avenues within the company to address their concerns. Namely by trouble ticket, phone or email. The IB forum is for other customers to share tricks and tips, not to seek help from IB reps since there are other ways to do that that are more viable.

One last thing, there are a lot of IB customers here because IB is one of if not the largest broker here with over 2 billion is customer assets. Last time I checked in futures magazine, IB was in the top 30 brokers worldwide. The only other brokerage on this site which was larger than IB was REFCO. But we know what happened to them.

It's fitting to quote what jimrockford wrote in a previous thread started by cscott.

Quote from jimrockford:

The person who started this thread made only one other EliteTrader post, prior to starting this thread, and that post was completely devoid of any substantial content which might suggest that this person was actually a trader. I think this person's first post was actually made for the purpose of establishing his cover as a pretended IB customer, so that he could then damage the company's reputation with bogus criticism.

I think it was also entirely unfair for him to use this thread, and its title, in order to criticize IB, while simultaneously requesting that nobody attempt to respond with an opposing viewpoint.

Experienced EliteTrader members have seen hundreds of threads like this one, coming from obvious shills who have no substantial prior history of contributing to ET, and who start their thread by knocking a particular company, usually IB, and then camouflage their motives and loyalties by asking for info about competitors.

My conclusion is that this person was never a customer of IB, and that this person is actually shilling for an IB competitor. If he disputes this accusation, then I would challenge him to provide proof that he is an IB customer. If he does provide proof, then I would apologize for jumping to the wrong conclusion. It would not be the first time I was wrong.

The reason I am posting this is because if this is true, then there is no use wasting time posting legitimate comments and questions here at EliteTrader concerning IB.

This is quite alright. Feel free to save your "valuable" time. It's extremely unlikely that your "contribution" will be missed.

BTW, full marks to you for tenacity. :)

where do you draw the line between tenacity, obsession and of course fatal attraction

To me, a review of a software program or b/d or course or anything for that matter should consist of a number of reviews. It is a shame there are so few reviews on so much of the products on this website.

You're a father? That's amazing. I thought kiwi was a "fruit". No go away, fruit_trader. Your trollful comments have no value here.
LOL cscott,

So the evidence of your posts suggest :
1) that you are working for another broker trying to knock IB (all but one and poorly with it) or just very stupid;
2) that you are homophobic and not particularly funny;
3) that you, the troll, label myself and others for lack of anything witty (even half-witty) to say or a useful argument which would be ok if you could manage to bite (lol); and

4) the evidence of the posters here suggest that

ET users are mostly for IB.

You've never posted an answer to another's question, posted in a thread you didn't start, or with that first funny exception posted except to attack IB. And, once again, you've lost. So perhaps now, after crawling back into your hole to lick your wounds, you will go and try to stir it up somewhere else little troll?

Good Post ddunbar.

Here is cscott's first ever posting on EliteTrader. His posting is exactly the kind of utterly uninformed and meaningless drivel, which I would expect from a shill who knows next to nothing about trading, but is trying to establish an EliteTrader cover identity as a retail customer, to help him damage IB's reputation:

Quote from cscott:

This thread is about the best ways to make money through investments and/or trading online.

Let's name some of the best instruments that people can invest and/or trade online. I'll start:

1. Savings account
2. CD's
3. Mutual Funds
4. Bonds
5. Stocks
6. ETFs
7. Foreign Exchange Spot Market
8. Futures (Commodities)
9. Options
10. Indices

Got any to add?

All of cscott's subsequent EliteTrader postings sought to damage IB's reputation, in threads started by cscott, which named Interactive Brokers in the thread titles.
