Our refugee law lists as one of the basic criteria to qualify as a refugee "religious" persecution, ie what Christians in the middle east are experiencing. It escapes me why the people doing the persecuting, muslims, must be treated as well as the persecuted.

Recognizing that illegal immigration is a huge concern to, say, drug problems (and I'm just giving an example here) is very difference than blaming "Mexicans" or "Muslims" for the ills of the country every chance you get. The former is a quest for solutions, the latter a quest for scapegoating.

apparently you have never been a born again Christian in a hardcore evangelical church (cult) like I was. Man, we wanted to take over the world and that included all culture and the government. And it was all based on some writings by some guys 2000 years ago who claimed to be under the inspiration of the Almighty God! (not some false god like Allah.) We were charged with spreading the gospel to all non believers. The only difference is when they rejected our path to salvation we would just pray for them. These guys are killing them.

That is the essential difference. But they aren't killing people to convert them. They are doing it to take over. They are ok with you living as a slave under sharia law.

if you refuse to convert, they will let you go if you pay a ransom, but who knows when they will be back again for more?

If you really want to defeat these guys on the ground, you need to pick a geographic area and go in under heavy airpower and kill any man with a weapon.

otherwise, a good economy destroys all enemies. We did it to the Soviets without hardly firing a shot or occupying anything. The only hope for ISIS is a ground war with USA. Wherever our military goes, money follows.
