he was probably looking to leave...doesn't look very healthy in those pictures and used this as an excuse. If he had death threats before, all this noise he is making could exacerbate the situation.

all i know, from personal experience at the job, doing some pretty "specialized and high level stuff at a critical time"....no one is dispensable....ever. I have also witnessed colleagues come and go, if alot leave at once it makes a diff, but not one person.

Quote from Syprik:

Any decent CDS/structured credit derivatives trader can sit down, analyze the books for a few weeks with an AIG consultant, and begin to help unwind the remaining $1.6 trillion just fine. The "they are terribly complex contracts" Liddy story you've been sold on is just smoke and mirrors in an attempt to keep the home team on the job = retention bonuses. There are plenty of capable traders out there looking for a job.

I think at lot of them are leaving now, unfortunately.

DeSantis is one among the AIG egocentric employees who think that company collapse is solely the company's false, not mine, whereas my performance must earn every penny. The chairman was right to say "distasteful", not about the bonuses but about some of his own employees behavior.

I find DiStAstEfuL that he used the word "betray" addressed to the chairman. He is the one who betray AIG because right now AIG have to build a good image for taxpayers but he didn't.

Why are we indulging these overpaid bandits?

Just give them their walking papers and a lifetime subscription to Felons digest.

now you tell us

where were you when Tim the idiot Geihtner was being confirmed on the basis that he's the "only one that can do this?"

ohhhhhh. that was different! that was your guy, right!

I guess no one here knows (or wants to know) the difference between a performance bonus and a retention bonus.
I'm curious about the timing of payment for his retention bonus and why he is able to keep it.

DeSantis is right if, other parts of AIG had made millions they would not have shared it with him so why should he partake in the losses. He could have left and stayed because he was lead to believe his bonus was secure. Classic bait and switch.

AIG FP has many lines of business, many of them just arb the firm's AAA rating.

DeSantis probably has nothing to do with the cds, if he is not the original traders and not one of the risk-managers oveseeing the cds book.

Who gives a crap. Why should we pay him almost a million dollars of taxpayer funds.

Im telling you, these pimps are grossly overpaid.

A good horseplayer has more skills then they do, you've been suckered into thinking these punks are worth it.
