Lashing out was maybe a tad heavy handed... moving on. As I've stated several times in this tread - I don't care what DBP does. I don't care if he has never traded in his life. I don't care if he has busted his account 100 times. I'm a big boy. I put my big boy pants on.
He hasn't shrouded his methodology in "guru speak". He isn't claiming to have the secret elixir for sale for the low, low cost of $30. What he does do is show a methodology that one can test if they are interested. If one isn't interested he might show a way to put together a methodology for oneself. DBP could move on tomorrow yet this information will still be there, ready for anyone who wants to.
A big boy does their own work and comes to their own conclusions. I don't fault anyone who - for whatever reason - isn't interested in the methodology. To attack the method maker endless without ever glancing at the method is a sign of weak character. You may not believe the claims he makes at face value. Good! Prove the method right or wrong for you. Post your findings here or elsewhere or keep them to yourself. Again - I don't care.
As for the people you hold in high esteem in this thread - what is it worth? There is no methodology to study or glean. They make fortunes and I applaud them for the hard work it must have taken to get where they are. I hope to also be in that boat some day.
In my poker days when I played in the higher stakes games from time to time there were always the "railbirds" - aspiring poker players that sat watching these high level players and trying to figure out what they were doing. They would sometimes see a hand a showdown and be amazed. "How could he call with that?" etc. They were watching the best players in the world but if they went back to their home game or wherever and tried that stuff - they would get killed. So of course it was, "those guys are just insane" or "lucky" or "cheating" or "poker is rigged" etc. They had completely missed the plot and would have done a lot better trying to understand the basics.
Right now I don't see any difference between you and a railbird.

SIV66 does not go into detail on his method, but it's commonly-known what markets and general strategy he trades (curve-trades). I think he'll also admit I got him into it.
I have spent 12 years going into detail on methodology. I have a "pitchfork" thread that goes into detail on a RV index skew method. I have dozens of other threads regarding method. I have posted arbs here (Oanda, Trinitas) while they were still exploitable.

My opinions and cynicism are rooted in long-experience. I left public-service to trade for two large sell-side firms before going out on my own 17 years ago. I've traded for three large HFs since 2000 ($150MM to billions in AUM). He's been calling people out with nothing to justify his opinion but a few months of trading.
I once had a CC with the risk-manager and my direct boss about risk-limits. The risk guy was hired from Soros/Quantum. They asked me when I started about my limits (self-imposed) considering the initial allocation. I told them "50,000 index gamma" on a $12MM account. The boss and risk guy thought it was reasonable, but that size would've taken down the firm. It was a joke; like asking someone if they believe in making blood acidic. I lost the gig after threatening the boss with a beating. Literally, "the only thing saving you is 800 miles of interstate" (Kenilworth IL to NYC).
Would I be a better trader if not a hot-head? Dunno, but I am doing pretty well by all accounts over the last couple of years.

For day trading, it's a losing method.
For swing trading, it can work.

Calling people out how? What he says is that you have to prove things to yourself, not trust anyone... His opinion is that he is testing the system out himself, do you not advocate testing something for yourself before you believe it?
If you don't quote DP I wouldn't know he even mentioned me. I have tried to ignore him. My comments couldn't be directed at him because on only see (I'm guessing) 1/4th of his responses. Each one of these replies reinforces that I made the right choice to ignore him.
I'm still waiting for an attack of a method but that will be a while. I have said that I believe his behavior in this tread leads me to believe there is something personal between him and DBP - at least on his end.
