Is day trading worth it?

A public journal in and of itself is no automatic fix-it. But if several people are working toward a common goal following more or less the same methodology, they can provide mutual encouragement as well as help prevent each other from wandering too far into the weeds. Granted there are times when one just has to go sit in the corner and think things through, but, on the whole, the public journal is a worthwhile endeavor if everyone who reads it behaves like an adult if he is for some reason compelled to comment without having opened one of his own.

Edit: Just looked at your last journal and saw that marketsurfer was on your case from the very beginning. What a drag. That one person can spoil so much is really pretty extraordinary. I wonder how many others elected to not even begin because of trolls.

Oh, as for Surf, there are two Surfs and I have a pleasure to more or less know both, hence his "Mr. Hyde" side doesn't bother me too much. :)

As for collaboration, I agree with you, but concluded that small, carefully selected working groups are much more productive.

They can be, yes. BTW, I scanned the first 300 posts of your last journal. You took one hell of a lot of abuse. But then there are one hell of a lot of failed traders out there. The successful ones don't behave like that.

Well, it was a valuable experience for me of operation in an aggressive environment. Happens in life. Our choice is either get distressed or become stronger. You only are abused if you accept it as an abuse. Which is not quite that in virtual online forum, where real life impact of such an abuse is truly negligible.

Plus I learned some valuable lessons. Knew some new things about myself. Very useful knowledge for future development.
 
I'd say abuse is abuse, so I was kind of stunned that someone would in a way say they were glad to be victimized. Obviously each person sees things differently.
As far as I am concerned, I absolutely do not welcome people who have mental imbalances "discharging" their issues anywhere else than with a mental health professional.

Well, I am mental health professional as you know. :)

And treat online attacks as sort of a training. With the possibility of even provoking some aggressive reactions at times to test certain concepts... not too often, though. :)
